The produce is cheaper but you can't take it back with you. Just enjoy eating the delicious peppers and avocados as much as you can, all for the equivalent of $.75 a pound, or less!

Totally possible if your buy good quality the evening before flight.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal.

Thank you!
I'm going to be in the English areas....could you direct me to a couple of stores in Geula or somewhere in central Jerusalem for shabbos tops/dresses that is likely to be cheaper than here?

Shop in chareidi areas which aren't Anglo.
Try Geula. Ask Jerusalemites in advance where to shop.
Israeli bathroom tissues seems to be a lot cheaper vs Americans (acc to a thread on imamother). They are thin and cheap. Again, in chareidi supermarkets.
Silver Judaica should be cheaper vs the US.
don't know about spices if it cheaper but you absolutely can get some very good ones. Also nuts.
When flying back to the US don't forget the duty free shops at the airport. Large selection of spirits and wine (the wine they carry is not cheap you get much better prices in the israeli chareidi grocery) dead sea products, intl. brand cosmetics and perfumes.
Some of the spirits even have hechsher.

Huh? Why would the time you buy the produce make any difference?

Very nice Judaica which I highly recommend is Malchut Waxberger

mwaxb.co.il

Excellent stuff and their own design.
Adding: one shop in Geula and two in bnei brak.

This is going to sound funny, but I know people who stock up on Sano kitchen sponges in Israel because the brands in America just dont compare to the big fluffy ones in Israel.

Wow Speechless first time I've ever heard this.

OP, tights for you and any daughters if you wear them?
If yes check out chareidi areas in Jlm, usually some sock and tights shops.
www.shop.schreibers.com - in Hebrew. There is a list of shops that carry their merchandise.
Pretty good prices IMHO

Someone once said in a thread here that the little kitchen knives you can get get anywhere are cheaper and better quality than you can get in America.

Yes the victorinox.
There is a store near yaffo street, that sells snoods and headgear at prices that are a steal. Can’t remember the name. Have to ask my daughter.
