Hi I just bought some chicken capons in the grocery store for shabbos. I’ve never made capons before. I’m thinking to maybe do capons with rice. Please post any recipes or instruction tips! Like do I pre cook the rice before stuffing the capons? (Never done this before) thank you!!!
Capons are so easy. You can bake them or cook them in a pot.
I've never made with rice I usually take the vegetables from the soup and mix it with from knaidel mix or flour and stuff it and then place the capons on suateed onions and carrots add some water and cook in a pot.
I cook a box of near East rice like the instructions.
Dip capon in lemon juice + paprika + salt + pepper mixture
Stuff capon with rice. Place tightly in baking pan. Shmear on some duck sauce. Sprinkle paprika.
Bake. We like it well done so I bake a long time covered. Then uncover at the end to brown the skin.

Cook the rice first (something tasty and well seasoned).
Spice the capons all around, lay skin side down and place a line of rice down the middle. Bring the two ends together to wrap around the rice and secure with toothpicks.
Lay seam side down in pan. Bake uncovered at 375 for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
I always make capons with rice! I buy premade rice from the deli. But if not, you need to cook the rice before and add seasoning or onions or veggies.
Stuff each capon with rice and close, seam side down. Season with salt pepper paprika garlic powder. Place a spoonful of duck sauce on each one. Bake at 350 covered for 1 hr 20 min the min uncovered for 10 min
