Maybe add “depends who’s simcha”. I love going to family simchos. More out of obligation for others.

So far you are in good company. We all feel the same. Yet we spend thousands to make simchos and invite people who'd rather not come...

I hate the getting ready part but the actual being there I love. I’m happy to show up to friends and family and share in their simcha. I’m happy to meet adults irl. I’m happy to look dressed up and good. It’s just the finding a babysitter and getting the kids in bed in time and running against time

I hate going to family simchahs when all I exist for is to "make" their simchah.

I like smachot.

These are usually celebrating milestone moments my relatives' or friends' lives, and it's wonderful to celebrate with friends and family.

I hate having to arrange child care. Once I'm by the simcha I usually enjoy myself.

I love going to simchas! Traveling and dealing with babysitting arrangements is not fun but getting dressed and going out and socializing and sharing in family and friends simchos I absolutely enjoy

I enjoy the fact that I have Simchas to go to but I must be getting old because I can't take the noise level anymore. I really enjoy Simchas on Shabbos for this reason.

I voted Yes because I only go to smachot of people I really love and care about. If it feels like an obligation then I don't go.
I despise going to smachot of people I barely know so I don't.

I love getting to dress up, do my makeup, go out with my husband, eat fancy food, and see my friends/family! Best date nights ever.

I love this poll and responses. People kill themselves to spend so much money on simchas so they can invite the world, and people don't even want to come!
We gotta start making them smaller.

I said "yes", but I'm a BT with toooootally non-religious family, so I only go to friends'weddings and their sons britot (soon may barei/batei mizvot too beezrat hashem), so it's a very rare thing since I have few friends. Like once every 2 years or something.

If it’s someone close to me then I want to be there and feel genuine joy. If it’s someone I’m not close to, especially if they have tons of family and friends, I won’t bother. I’m an introvert but there’s exceptions when you’re truly happy for someone.

Personally I don’t have a lot of family and before every simcha I get very nervous about if anyone will show up. I am so so appreciative to everyone that comes.

Sometimes it's a drag to get myself dressed up, etc..and I do so out of obligation. But once I'm there, I really enjoy seeing everyone (whether "everyone" is family or friends) and sharing in the Simcha.

If my friends will be going I enjoy seeing everyone.
If the only person I know is person making the simcha then it's more of a bother to go. Sometimes I'll go just a few minutes to say mazal Tov, sometimes I'll skip.

At the end, I was truly happy to see all the people that came to wish me mazal Tov to my kids' wedding!!
I feel bad that I can't make it to every wedding.

Let’s all keep in mind that imamother is largely introverted. I see plenty people enjoying themselves by simchas.
