Hi,
I'll be traveling to Hunter mountain for a two day skiing trip as a first time skiier. If you did such- I'd appreciate any tips.
Was anyone in the area? which hotel is recommended? We will IYH be eating at Melour. I don't need a fancy hotel as we will be out most of the day. maybe a hot tub would be nice.

I've been to the area several times. There aren't a lot of traditional hotels to choose from, and some of them are pretty run down. An AirBNB is probably your best bet in terms of proximity to the mountain and bang for the buck.

You can also stay in the Hunter Mtn Lodge. Not sure what the pricing is, but we had a great experience there.

You need waterproof pants, double up your socks, a coat, you can wear a few layers underneath the coat. A thin hat that has an attached neck cover. Waterproof gloves. Goggles if it's super sunny or snowy. You'll rent skis and helmet.

My husband is saying that we will be too exhausted after day 1 to do it again next day. Anyone has experience with this?

You'll be tired but that's the best way to actually get the hang of it and enjoy it, if it's your first time the first day will be a lot of falling/learning... so the fun begins once you get past that. IME you need more than one day to actually enjoy

You'll get goggles from the rental place, it's much cheaper then buying.
The neck warmer is good, you need a hat/ski cap.
Any waterproof gloves are good.
Are you taking a lesson? The first day stinks while learning. Be prepared for not having fun and the next day should be fun, you'll know what your doing a little more.
