If your doing vinyl you should get top quality or else it will scratch and will not be durable. Also do not get beveled edge planks because dirt will get stuck between the planks. I personally have vinyl plank flooring and it held up great, the brand I have is called cortec. |
Did you buy directly from coretec? Who installed it? How long have you had it for?

What brand vinyl did you use?

We had wood for years & never looked great because we didnt go away enough to refinish. (Also couldn't train cleaning help not to get or too wet!)
Now we put down a really good quality wood look vinyl. We did borders too. It looks beautiful & scratches just go away when you wash it.
In fact after a couple of years we extended the dining room & you couldn't tell the old from the new.

Wood floors by me are 75 yrs old. I think they were covered by carpet until we bought almost 20 yrs ago. We refinished then and haven't done since. We put prestained wood in our addition 10 yrs ago and it's also holding up well. Sure it has scratches but not so noticeable. Just don't go dark, that's when you see scratches

You can do light natural wood without any stain finish, just a finish on top to make it waterproof / durable and smooth. This way it's very hard to notice any scratches.
