This 100%. People have a cleaning lady because they don't want to clean. And then they can make all the excuses why it's a necessity and it isn't really for them...

I don't make any excuses. I have a cleaning lady because I don't like cleaning and also because I'm lazy and don't feel like cleaning even though theoretically I could if I had to. But I don't feel like it. I can also afford the few hours a week that she comes, so I don't feel that I have to make any excuses.

I have a cleaning lady because I’d rather spend my time taking care of my children and outsource the cleaning.

I had a time where we couldn't afford. Zehu. I didn't like who I was. I was angry at each mess. My back hurt. Every time kids came from school I literally waited for them to clean with me. Then my back hurt more. I went to a specialist who yelled that I should stop cleaning. I told her I cannot afford. That's how I discovered the state mandated cleaning help kah. But they're far from perfect. I'm easy going so that was OK for me, you just have to hope they show up 😉 They saved my back.

Lucky you, to live in a country where the state pays for your cleaning help. Imagine if we all had that - how many happy, relaxed mothers and happier kids there would be!

And I don’t employ a cleaning lady because I hate my husband. Oh no, actually it’s because we can’t afford one.

Caveat you have to have a pregnancy, a baby, little children and/or a health problem. But yes BH.

My husband strongly dislikes CL. He prefers dirt to people in his space touching his stuff.

Um, never saw the other thread this is referring to, but it actually is not so funny or tongue in cheek for me. I really do have a cleaning lady because I care about my marriage. It is a lot cheaper than therapy and who knows what other interventions would be needed. My husband suffers from OCD and can be pretty uptight when it comes to a clean house. He does the best he can, but it very strongly affects his well being. I would actually rather not have a cleaning lady for the hours that I have, which is not even unreasonable for a family my size (think single digits), not for financial reasons and also just having to deal with a cleaning lady in the house. Experience taught me that we have the cleaning lady. And yes, I am in some debt, but my emotional health is worth more (getting yelled at about the state of the house etc).
I am very much in agreement with you amother yolk, all that you do-kudos!! Give yourself a tremendous amount of credit, and no, most people will not understand you. Thanks for the unknown support you are giving me to put on makeup etc. (that is another thing on hubby's list, but a story for a different time)
