More bar mitzvah questions

Some odds and ends, though YMMV =

Shopping -

- Socks/tights/stockings for you and kids
- Shabbos shoes (for bar mitzvah boy and others)
- Hair ties/barrettes/kippah clips
- Make up
- New kippahs for the boys/your husband

To do -

- Do you wear a sheitel? Will it need to be set before then?
- Anything need to be dry cleaned before then? Altered?
- Any kibbudim you want to decide on in advance? (Who will daven, who will give a speech, make kiddush, etc)
- Is the Bar Mitzvah boy planning to write a speech?
- Haircuts as needed for all
- Find out (if you haven't already) if anyone coming has severe allergies to anything that might mean you have to adjust the menu

Misc -

- Set up zoom for out of town relatives
- Order thank you cards when ordering invites
- Gift for Bar Mitzvah boy?
- Some boys try to finish a learning thing lichvod their Bar Mitzvah (no idea what's standard where you live)

I can't remember if someone wrote this, but a babysitter for shabbos day for any little ones who might impede on you getting ready and getting to shul on time.

Hi, I got to bed near 5 hours ago from Moyshele's bar mitzva and oddly I'm already on Imamother Heart

BREAK THE SHOES IN. Or your mom will say we don't run barefoot.
That is me I'm talking about; bring flats. I did, btw.

It's expensive. Don't compare with even a big bas mitzva. Our first is a girl. She had a big kiddush, people said it was a bar mitzva kiddush (fish, meat) and a very classy party. But don't even compare. Tefilin ? Suit ? Good shoes? and if you get a teacher ? comparison is the thief of joy.

You may be very weird and emotional. You may cry (I never do). I did several times and was close to many times.

You will be allowed to dream HUGE. Get the princess dress. For you and daughters. Get the make up and hair done, don't do it yourself

Pics and videos BEFORE the food ideally guests even when the room is quiet.

Write the pictures you want. Match / do a theme, include grandparents even just an accessory they should accept

If the child is named for someone look out for closest relatives of this person when he leins, etc they'll be very emotional.

Don't mock Jane Austen characters anymore between emotional and girdle you'll understand why women fainted :p

Dream big. Is there a rabbi or lehavdil or a celeb you want? Invite. You may get a meil, a word or even a show. Don't jump at them LOL.

Now more serious CATERERS PLEASE allow poor people to take the food that remains. We had to leave it at shul in fridge and as we left the shul in the middle of the night I wrote on tons of groups "mehadrin food available in fridge grande synagogue of C" because caterer cannot do it... In Israel they've been done it since laready our wedding kah!!!! so write something on local groups after so people come, and say which kashrus
