Wow, wouldn’t have imagined the father-in-law would be next.

I could definitely see him reacting this way and not Esty. When the father had the discussion with this Rav a few chapters ago he already began to realize then how dysfunctional their lifestyle is. Esty was the one who said that she would rather lose their entire retirement that admit that they have them scammed out of their savings.
As an aside, I don't know why these stories always make the woman out to be the dysfunctional one. Same was true in take two (the story where the newly married son was enmeshed with his mother who had the baking business. He ended up missing his own child's birth because he was helping his mother with her business and had his phone off). They were both somewhat immature and messed up but the wife was far worse than the husband. And of course he realized first that they needed help and she refused to admit it...

But in the next generation the men have been dysfunctional. Nesanel, Nachy, and Meir. Aryeh from Take Two. And their wives were normal.
Maybe it shows you how influential a mother is on her children.

just wonder how nachy/ malky and meir/peri reveal would go... peri and meir wld die in shame , its more personal to announce to everyone that you have sb problems and wanna divorce...like a troubled kid or losing $ is not as bad as that.....

I wish Nesanel had stayed and not run off. He should have heard how bad it has been for Rikki and then what his father said.
On a separate note I'm not liking Tethered. Why do they need to give her such a feeble reason to divorce. I think I may switch to Mishpacha once Illusions has finished.
