Anyone following? I’m usually not one for historical serials, but this one has gotten me hooked. I think I missed the first chapter, so trying to piece together the relationship between Clara and Ahron family.

Clara and Ahron are first cousins and married to each other. They are more frum than their families.

I wonder why the father is so insistent that Rosetta and Clara work with the midwife- they certainly don't seem to need the money, and it's so cruel to force Clara to do it.
