I noticed on another thread that many don’t buy the Ami anymore. I stopped buying any magazines because they were too expensive and I was just curious about others

I buy non-Jewish magazines, like The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Nat Geo, Smithsonian, History, Vogue, etc.
Jewish magazines just don’t do it for me.

It's seasonal. For a while the Mishpacha was boring with not enough fiction.
I switch back and forth depending who has good serials running.
Sometimes I buy both.
The Mishpacha is available for free online, so I know I can always catch up later.

Don't buy the Ami because I think the writing quality is awful and it's not worth the money. We get Mishpacha.

The Mishpacha is available for free online? I didn’t know. Probably not the current issue though

I don’t buy magazines that don’t print photos of women. And no I’m not modern orthodox I’m mainstream yeshivish lite.

Simply because they don't print pics of women? Even if you'd otherwise enjoy the magazine?
I don't buy any magazines because they don't interest me, but that sounds ridiculous.
And what does mainstream yeshivish lite mean?

Why is that impossible to be a deal breaker? I agree with her. Back in the 1980s when I was a kid even the yeshivish magazines printed photos of women.

I don’t buy any magazines because I really have zero interest in reading any of it and my youngish kids would read it cover to cover and I don’t think that would be good for them.

The current issue is fully available. Also all the back issues. I love them for posting all their articles online! I’m too broke to buy the Mishpacha.
Just create a login on their website and click into this week’s issue and have fun reading.

I prefer the mishpacha and don’t want to spend money on two. Sometimes I’ll get the ami for pesach or sukkos and there’s a few sections I enjoy but overall I like mishpacha better

It is. The current issue goes up online Tuesday late afternoon- before it hits the newsstands.

Other
Don't buy weekly, but for yomim tovim and sometimes at other times. I'd like to say I take a stand and don't buy it because of no women's pics or another important reason, but I find that I read almost every article in Ami Living and quite a few in the regular Ami. When I tried Mishpacha, I read 1-2 articles there.

I don’t buy any because it’s expensive and I try to save as much as I can. If I had more money I would buy mishpacha but not the Ami. I find the Ami to be unprofessional and poorly executed.
