Name him Yakov after Rachel’s husband, Yosef or Binyamin after one of her sons, or Yissachar because Rachel Imeinu was told, yesh sachar le’fulaseich יש שכר לפעולתך .

Their was a minhag in Germany to name baby boys with a Lashon Hakodesh name and a חול
name. The chol name was actually German and almost always had a connection to the lashon hakodesh name.
Asher was paired with Anschel or Lemel (baby lamb).
Another example,
Yisacher was paired with Beris (a specific plant in German, referring to the events that led up to Yisacher's conception. Reuven had brought דודאים for his mother Leah. Rochel desired the דודאים and gave up her night with Yakov in exchange for it. That night, Leah became pregnant with Yisacher.

It came to pass, as Yidden moved to Eastern Europe the origins of Beris was lost on the people, and it was translated to Dov.
To this day, there are families with the name Yisacher Berish who are makpid not to use the name Dov.
And there are communities who insist on adding a name to Dov. (Because the name was distorted from a scenario in the Torah and from a kabalistic standpoint since a bear is non-kosher and also an animal (as opposed to a non-kosher בהמה).

There is actually a book explaining names like Reuven Zundel, Menachem Mendel, Yakov Kopel,
Yomtov Lipa or Lipman, Binyamin Volf, Yehuda Leib, Shlomo Zalman etc. etc.

My son is called Usher Lemel but he is known as Ushi. It is after a grandfather so we "had" to give the name, but nobody even needs to know his other name until it is on his wedding invitation!
I have a close relative called Yissachar Berish.
