Yes I do.
I always like to buy a year ahead so I’m never desperate for clothes and I get some good close out deals.
The only time I don’t is when I have a baby and I’m not sure if they’ll be slim or chubby

Depends on the kid. More petite kids grow slower. My kids until around 10 grow very little.

I wish I could shop in advance like this.
My oldest daughter was the same size for 3 years (she’s a drop tall and very thin ).
My next daughter often goes up TWO sizes a year, but not reliably. I think this summer she’ll be in size 8 as a 6.5 year old. She’s very tall.
Next daughter is wearing size 4 as a 2.5 year old.
And the next one is petite so far !

My son is more reliable

Thanks so much!
Just turned 6 year old is wearing an 8 in Junee’s brand shabbos dresses and lil legs. Fits her well, not short. The 7 lil legs dress I have for her is very just. Should I go with a 10?
9 year old is wearing size 12 lil legs and Junee’s shabbos, some size 14 skirts for length
My kids are tall and broad

I've rarely ever managed to shop ahead.
Sweatshirts which can be a little generous, or fit more snugly, fine.
But dresses can look so off if they're oversized or just too short!
I prefer shopping for affordable clothes beginning of season.

Yes. But there have been years when they surprised me and grew into what I bought that same year. And I was so glad I had that in the closet because the stores were mostly sold out at that point. But I did have to buy the next size up the following year. Bh only such “problems”.

Yes I would do size 10 for your six year old and size 14 for your 9 year old with size 16 skirts (assuming you are happy with size 12 this year for dresses) It's not a perfect science so you'll have to be okay with the risk but in my experience I still come out way ahead doing it this way. Good luck, I hope you get beautiful things that you and your girls love!

Next year you can try things on and if they're too big you could try shrinking them in the dryer/hemming them
