I do this and add a strip of mustard to the dough before wrapping. I cut them into bite before baking. Then egg wash and seseme seeds

I smear the puff pastry with a mixture of ketchup and mustard.
You can sprinkle everything-but-the-bagel on top before baking.

I use the Peppridge Farm puff pastry. The other brands are much harder to work with.
There are two sheets in each box.
Defrost for about twenty minutes, then open it . When it's soft, cut each sheet into 9 squares. (Optional, put a dollop of mustard in each square. )
Place a frank in each square and roll the puff pastry square around it. I sometimes stretch it a bit.
Cut in 4 pieces.
You end up with 36 mini franks per sheet.
You can freeze at this point if you are making it for a party.
When you want to use them, egg the top of each dough, optional sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 400 until the tops look golden.

Yitzys puff pastry squares. Thin layer of duck sauce and wrap around the frank. Instead of an egg wash I do thin layer of duck sauce.
I make them mini. I buy cocktail franks. Cut each small square in half. Use one piece for one frank.

Big trick - boil the franks in water for around 10-15 minutes (don’t need to boil the water first) and then cool off and dry before wrapping in the (just defrosted) puff pastry dough. Add mustard to help the franks stick to the dough. Then brush with egg or duck sauce and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Fastest is I wrap whole hotdogs is strips of puff pastry and slice after wrapping. Not as pretty but fast and cheaper then buying the mini hot dogs.

What's the point of boiling the franks?
