Plastic tablecloths on counters when cooking a lot of food at once. Makes clean up easy!!
Invested in a mop vacuum combo. I use it a few times a week and don’t have to mop as much as I used to!
One load every day!

Hide all the toys in a bag makes cleanup very efficient instead of organizing them.

-Peel onto a plastic bag. then dump the whole thing.
-Disposable aprons
-OHIO only handle it once (ie pick it up, put it away, done)
-put all size ziplock bags into a drawer and lay them out rather than stacked so you just open the drawer and grab
-separate small fridge for soda bottles keeps the main fridge clear
-shoes near the front door, in a hanging organizer like this one https://a.co/d/9Vzb5tW or this one https://a.co/d/gNOrg1F. shoes off by the door and in a cubby, floor stays cleaner and all shoes are in one place. I put the organizer in a hanging coat closet so it looks nice closed.

Years ago a cousin of mine told me: wash as you go along. Exp, you use a measuring cup, wash it right away. It keeps the dishes from piling up. I still to date 15 years later use this technique 95% of the time, you end up saving yourself time in the long run. Because it can take a good few min to wash a sink full of dishes while it takes 10 seconds to wash a measuring cup or a plate.

For an stress-free morning, I do simple prep the night before.

-big basket by the door-as I clean up I place shoes, coats and briefcases inside.
-lay out clothes for big kids by in their beds. They can’t play in the morning until they are dressed. I do use a chart to motivate my child and bh it’s been a game changer. I can sleep another 10 minutes in the morning. Horray!

I love having freezer desserts. When I made desserts I make twice a put in freezer. That when when unexpected quests show up I always have something

10 minutes a morning after everyone is gone to make beds, throw trash away, put up a load of laundry and turn on the roborock in the kitchen. I also spend about 5 more minutes to put up a crockpot meal and set the rice cooker for 4.30pm. That just makes everything feel easier so I can focus on work and not worry about dinner or messes.

When deciding where to put things, focus on making it easy to put the things back in their place, not on making it easy to get it out in the first place. People will put in extra effort to get an object they need but won't necessarily put in effort to put in back in the exact right spot.

As part of this - don't stack objects of different sizes together. Like, I can make a nice pretty nested set of tupperwares, but odds are not good that whatever child is emptying the dishwasher will take the extra few seconds needed to put a medium-sized container back in the exact right place.

A general hack of life is minimalism. The less things you have, the less mess there is. Stuff gives us so much anxiety we don’t even realize it.

Twice a year I go through clothing, closets, storage etc and throw away/donate things. I find so much pleasure in purging. I don’t buy so many things in general. I purge gifts, thing people gave us, damaged items that need replacing, stored items I know we won’t need, free junk that we somehow have in our house
