Can you explain? What is the beauty of belly piercing???

I personally love it! I think it adds personality and draws attention to a very se x y area. Always dreamed of getting one, but scared of the pain and infection. I'm also very sensory, I think it would be annoying.

You have to keep the piercing in for up to a year. It takes awhile to heal.

Well that's annoying. How would I time this when I'm not pregnant or nursing and getting monthly periods? :/

I got mine right after my first Mikvah postpartum. Wasn’t getting my period because of nursing and BC anyway, so day after my first Mikvah I went to get it pierced. It’s not a problem to do while nursing. Recovery is annoying. I suggest getting the round ended starter ones and then switching to something fancier after a few weeks. I started with a fancy one with a stone and it snagged in everything which was very painful.

For those who like it or DH likes it, wouldn't you get one to clip on without going through the pain and recovery from piercing? Don't they look like the real thing but minus the pain and take off easily whenever you're not in the mood of it?

How does a clip on work in that area? Where exactly is it clipped on?

Google jewelry without piercing for any area. I saw some pretty ones. I'd definitely go that route instead of piercing just because of all the pain involved.

Maybe they're stick on.

I wish my belly button was pretty enough to add a piercing. Even though I am generally slim, after having children, it looks like a soggy dough with what looks like a map drawn over it with stretch marks.

It's supposed to be sêxy, I'm guessing that her husband finds it sêxy.
It's only trashy to have it out in public not as something kept private.

I don’t know how they are for belly button piercings (still too scared lol) but I’ve gone to them a few years ago for ear piercings and they’re really nice and clean

A strong possibility of belly infection is the last thing a pregnant woman needs.

Same. This whole thread all I could think was that it would look awful on me. I’m not considered fat but my weight is in my stomach and my belly button is lost in the folds around it. You all must be so slim with flat stomachs

If you're worried about chillul hashem, then it's the same chillul hashem regardless of where you're getting it done.
But why do you think that it's a chillul hashem??

I see why the op is being precautious. Non Jews have a double standard for us sometimes. They hold us to a higher standard sometimes, what is ok for them to do in day to day life can become a chillul hashem if we do it. So I could see how finding the right non jew to do it would be helpful in avoiding a chillul hashem.

Didn't read the whole thread, sorry if someone already said this, but belly button piercings are done at tattoo shops, not ear piercing places, so Claire's doesn't do it, but you can search tattoo shops for a place to get it done.

Also, sorry for all the hate you're getting. I really don't think there's anything wrong with doing that and I think you're being respectful by not going somewhere public.
