But the Israelis say it differently... LOL


There's a Family Pines where I live, I've known them for 40+ years, never connected it to anything elsse. First I've heard of it being a wierd name!

There's a street in W. Virginia where all the streets are numbers, 10th Street, 11th Street etc. Then there's a street with a half number, like 19 1/2 Street. I can just imagine the city planners saying Oops!

There was a time when Jews were given humiliating names by the government. This could be one of them. This is what I assume when I hear the name Mauskop. (No offense to any lovely ppl with that name)

I live off that road.
My daughter always cringes when she goes out on a date with a boy and he uses GPS.

There is nothing strange about the name Pines, pronounced Pines. The issue is that Israelis DONT pronounce it that way.

I stayed on that street many times (there’s a hotel on it) and when I would ask a cab driver to take me to Pines or however I decided to pronounce it, he would never know what I was talking about until finally he’d say “ahhh, rechov pen*s…”
