I agree that this is all very confusing. And its not surprising that readers are getting mixed up between stories. It keeps switching between both young couples.
Having said that, the recent situation with yehudis's rent $ is beyond unrealistic. How does such a misunderstanding occur in the shidduch world?
This is is a basic discussion before the kids get engaged (some parents even ask this before 1st date). I dont have married kids yet but I know from other people that when both sides mert before engagement the 1st question is "so how is the rent being paid?"
Did yehudis's father give over an unclear message maybe?

I suspect that he committed to half the rent with the intention that yehudis would be getting a better job and paying it herself.

I'm curious how this will play out, and I really hope she will continue teaching!

Am I the only one who noticed that Leebie’s so nice to the young mothers in the grim but so snappish and mean with her own younger kids? I’m having a hard time with the serial because both Amram and Leebie aren’t characters I can sympathize with. Every week when I finish reading I want to ship them off for a few months of intense therapy. When they’re in a better place emotionally they can come back into the pages of mishpacha magazine and finish their story.

Very often, these people are blamed and told 'Chesed begins at home' and 'What's the point of being nice to everyone else if you don't traet yur kids nicely' and all that. But they've given up! They have what to give, they aren't appreciated at home, so they have to be nice SOMEWHER.

It's very sad, but unfortunately not uncommon.

I like how the story captures Amram's personality. He's controlling and obnoxious, and some other things....but not quite abusive, from what we know so far. Maybe what we would call difficult.

Since he doesn't seem to have actually crossed the line into abuse, we can hope that he'll change by the end of the story.

And also that Leebie will learn how to assert herself and draw her own respectful boundaries. And his daughter and sil too for that matter.

Big mistake in this week's chapter they were searching for a mom the mohel wanted to talk to and found her.... Choosing earrings for her baby! How did the editors miss this?

Also it's crazy that leebie needs to pay her daughters rent!! I'm completely on amroms side. Man up and pay urself for heavensake!! Is that how most people live? Sad

Personally, I don't understand why Leebie's jumping through all these hoops to pay the rent. Why didn't she let Amrom speak to Ita? Ita made the mistake, why is Leebie protecting her? In her place I'd have let my husband drag this witch over the coals and then figured out what to do about the rent.

Maybe. I don't watch movies and I also don't read current novels. I'm talking about well-written secular novels from way back when writer took pride in their work and readers were discerning.
