Mehadrin min hamehadrin is that chutz laretz has to eat double the required amount of donuts but some can't be your favorite kind as a knas.
What can I say
It's clearly halacha

It’s tough for us in EY too. We have to take off trumos and maisros. And during shmita year it’s holy so you can’t throw any away, it all has to get eaten (which is not so hard, really).

Shmita aside, we're quite machmir, not one drop of the donut can be discarded.
That's bizayon hamitzva

Thank you, OP! Cookie Corner has the most decadent looking doughnuts for $9. Now I can justify the cost, knowing that I get a mitzvah with every scrumptious bite! Who knew that mitzvos can taste so good?!?

Grab em! They’re almost out! Was just there and they’re being grabbed like they’re free.

My kallah teacher taught me that we should be careful not to eat the red jelly donuts when niddah in case your dh should feel desire if some squeezes out as you eat.

And young boys should not eat red jelly donuts at all in case it leads to improper thoughts, so must only eat unfilled or ring donuts, or those with different non red fillings

Girls are less inclined to impure thought so can eat red jelly donuts but only if no boys over the age of 3 are present and if they are a size 2 or below.

Donuts must never be eaten in a place where a shadchan may be present if you are a girl in the parsha, but boys may eat one (abiding by the appropriate color filling) if at least 2 other boys also in the parsha are present or he is with married friends.

Double fried are obviously more mehudar but single fried are acceptable. The sugar coating of an Israeli style donuts must be thick enough that the color of the donut is not seen through it, and these donuts will be marked with a special palm hechsher.

Air fried or baked donuts are only acceptable for those claiming to be MO or for medical causes (a doctors letter may be required)

A frielichen chanukah to all 🤣😉

Some chasidem are makpid never to eat jelly donuts for that reason! Custard or Carmel only. The more expensive it is the more hidur mitzva.

Air fried can be eaten only before shkia each night, similar to egg matza that cqn be eaten within 30 days before pesach.

On mikva night there is a minhag for husband and wife to share a dozen donuts . Each getting half of each donut. The donuts must all be different varieties

Ha! No wonder, now that they learned it's a mitzvah.

Can we also say that doughnut calories don't count?

Kidding aside, which are the best Cookie Corner doughnut flavors? At $9 apiece, I want to splurge on the best (preferably dairy).

My great great cousin twice removed wouldn't mish, only ate homemade donuts. Anyone else has this minchag? maybe you're my long lost relative.
OP can you find the source fo not mishing donuts on chanuka?

I wasn't really sure, so I asked my husband, and he said the minhag originates in Hungary. But the rationale for not mishing is different than Pesach. In Hungary they didn't mish on Chanuka because each family would try to outdo the other making more and more outlandish fillings. This created a lot of competition and the women started testing new recipes in the beginning of Cheshvan. (They used to call Cheshvan "Haschalas haSufganios.") When women started stealing recipes and trying to sabotage each other, the rabbonim stepped in.
They made a takana that families were forbidden to mish donuts, and this way the competition and jealousy were eliminated. Eventually, this was accepted by all the communities in the Vaad Arba Aratzos.

The Litvish kehillos, however, never took on this minhag, especially since they were too poor to make the donuts in the first place

Ha. They call me that in some threads.
In this thread I'm the JDL. (You can work that one out.)
And tonight I was the PLL. (I just haven't gotten a chance to write up the halachos yet. )

Did you hear that Rabbi Fonut just said that if you live in Lakewood you can finally fulfill the mitzvah of eating donuts in the most mehudar way? For each night of chanuka you are ment to eat a donut from a different source AKA bakery.

So my takeaway from this is only forbidden to mish from people’s homes and not bakeries?

Maybe cuz The bakeries aren’t really sabotaging each others recipes , just prices..🤔

Is the bolded nogeia only if in front of dh or at any party?
I might need to uninvited myself from some gatherings then…it’ll be sooooo embarrassing 🙈

Also some of these posts reek with judgement on people that don't but donuts. Fyi there are some very good reasons that some people need to refrain! Please be more sensitive.
Allergies, eating disorders, ozempic, post or pre surgery. I can go on and on!
Be thankful that you don't understand the struggle!
