Divide the living room between men and women? Put a mechitza in the middle? Stick the women in our 2x2 kitchen? How does everyone do it?

My family member did it. Women in the 2/2 kitchen. Men in the living room. It's doable. It passes. B'h for simchas. And I did just a 'Mazel Tov' [parents and chassan kallah only] and later tenoyim [that week]

Assuming you mean the small unofficial thing, we had mine at my grandparents house, my parents had no room for anything over 10 people.
Can you find somewhere else do do it? A relative's home or a shul?

Friends are going to stop by even if we don't invite them. No way everyone is going to fit in my kitchen!

How long does it have to be? By the time everyone got the message that there was an engagement, there wasn't much of a lechaim happening anymore. it didn't last 5 hours.

Simchas are special occasions. Don't worry. Most people will say mazel tov and leave quickly if not much room. I would put the ladies in the 2x2 kitchen instead of dividing living room. If possible to remove anything and put in q bedroom it is helpful. Big tables chairs, couches, etc clear space as much as possible

If you put up a mechitza, will the women have more space than in the kitchen? If yes, do that!

Can you put a serving table in the middle to also act as the mechitzah?
Also, do you have any other overflow space besides the kitchen?

Great idea and I have been at a few where they did this. Just family invited but quite large.

You can also give different groups of people different times to come and then just smile at the ones who arrive unannounced. Most People will just come briefly and you will probably be so happy that you won’t care if it’s squished. Better to have more people celebrating your joy. I happen to have a relatively large space and even we didn’t have much room. It all worked out. It should be with Mazal and Glick.
