Looking for ideas to make a low cost upsherin. Is there a way to do it as an open house and not need to provide a meal while still being nice? Looking for ideas of how to schedule it while providing snack foods ie dessert foods and drinks while also doing the haircut and having people come up to cut the hair without having tables and chairs for everyone?

I did mine in the morning- cutting with only the grandparents. Served bagels/ salads/ cheesecake.
Later in afternoon had neighbors, cousins, friends etc.. peckelach, cake, nosh laid out.
Beautiful, easy and affordable

We prepared a breakfast for grandparents and siblings (mine and dh’s) only. Served rolls with salads, cheesecake, coffee. Bought nice paper goods and disposable tablecloth at a local store.
Pekelech were colorful paper bags from Amazon, printed labels at a local print shop. A cheap snack, candy and wafer. Neighbors and cousins came later in the day to pick up pekelech, we didn’t prepare anything for then.
Was beautiful event BH.

Same. Do just family for cutting / food.
Invite everyone else for dessert and pekalach after.
