It does strike me as a bit of a modern name on the way Shira and adina are, but I don’t think it would cause anyone problems it’s normal enough

Shira and adina are basically yeshivish names at this point.

I live in Cleveland. In my kids' school, there are a few shira's and adina's, no meira's.

It's totally acceptable, I know a bunch of Meir as. It's similar to Tehila, Atara, Aliza. Not as common as Shira and Adina.

K funny story time. I have a super mainstream Yiddish first name (think Faigy or Mindy). When I was about 10 I complained to my mother why did she give me such a nebby name, I don't like it. Being the warm, accepting person that she is, she asks me what would I want my name to be. I thought and thought and came up with Meira, that was the prettiest name I could think of. And my mother called me Meira for a day or two! Until I was like this is too weird and went back to my real name! I'm Lakewood yeshivish for reference 😆

R' Chaim and names is very specific, you had to ask your own shaila. I know a few Shira 's that he said their name was good and I also know the OG who asked the shaila and was told it wasn't.

I grew up yeshivish with a few Meira's.

Meira is not an Israeli name - definitely not in the last several decades. I have been living in EY for 30 years and have never met an Israeli Meira.
