Are these new movies? Never heard of these. Can you tell us anything about them.
If is pretty new I think. It's on Amazon prime. It's about a kid who finds these imaginary friends ("ifs") who got discarded when their kids grew up. I won't spoil it but the older viewers will understand it on a more heartfelt level while younger viewers will find it lots of fun on the surface level. If you have a sensitive or very emotional child you might want to tell them in advance that the father recovers from his illness - there is a teary hospital scene.
Home I don't think is that new. I'm not sure why it's not better known because my family loved it and I don't remember anything inappropriate about it. It's loosely based on the book The True Meaning of Smekday which is also adorable. Cute cartoonish aliens invade Earth and relocate people. A kid teams up with an alien to try to find her mother who got relocated without her. It's mostly cute and funny as the alien and human communicate and learn about each other's lives.
definately not chitty bang bang
I remember it being very scary with the kid snatcher....my kids would not sleep if they saw that (same ages as yours)
I'm same like you out of town BY family. I would love to hear some good jewish movies (like the girls plays) we don't want ever really so our expectations are super low
Parent trap does not meet OPs standards for romance, it's all about getting the parents to "fall back in love" in addition to the dad's infatuation with his fiancee.
Matilda I haven't watched.
I feel so validated by the traumatic recollections of Annie on the drawbridge and the child snatchers in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Those and the wizard of Oz flying monkeys specifically are the most nightmarish scenes that have stuck in my memory for all time.
