Is the SM taking achrayis for her mistake?
For 20k, I would ask a shaila and honestly consider bais din. I almost had to go to bais din with the SM for my sheitals as a kallah. I absolutely hated my sm she was a total diva (if you're not an influencer she doesn't care about you), I would have appointments and she wouldn't answer the door, didn't answer my calls and texts for the first 4 months I was married asking for my wigs and updates (she had to "fix" the lace on both of them.) I walked around in a snood as a newlywed, it was hard!!! I honestly am so wary of most SMs

Wigs/hair will never be perfect. There’s a lot you’re going to have to left to of.
You need very relastic expectations or you’ll never ever be happy.
I’ve had customers like you.
The jump from place to place and each time is a bigger disaster than the one before.
It’s not the SM, they have many happy customers.
It’s the unrealistic expectations that can’t be met.
We can’t predict how a wig will take, I wish it was possible but it’s not.
I hope u can come to terms with that instead of flushing money time and time again… |
I’m not OP but another blonde. How dare you?! I’ve too have been burnt by shaitle marchers like you who tried to convince me that a terrible reddish wig was just my ashy shade of blonde. Some talked me into buying things that were horrible. I remember once spending a lot on a new high end wig just so I could get a good color. The next day I was at an appointment and the receptionist said something about the redhead… I’m so ashy I’m almost gray and this wig was almost red…

Unless the SM is the manufacturer she's only earning a very small percentage of all that money you spent.
That is the reason I don't sell these crazy high end wigs. I basically make the same amount than on a lower end wig and the expectations are thru the roof. Not worth the headache.
Obviously there's never an excuse to be rude. That is totally unacceptable.

Op I can’t believe they’re ruined beyond repair.
Someone’s gotta be able to do something!
So unfair!

My niece had the reverse, she came out of the sheitel place (was a chain place that makes the wigs and sells them) crying as a Kallah, ready to say she will just wear a tichel to Sheva Brachos (kidding but that's how they made her feel). They kept trying to convince her that their blonde wigs are just fine on her and she's being too picky, even though they made her look wierd. Then she went to another SM who was honest and told her that she is really on the red spectrum. She ended up getting the "C" (that's what it's called) which is red and her color - barely in time for her wedding. Looks great on her.
And I never thought she was red, I always thought of her as blonde. But now that I see what they are talking about, yeh, she has a tinge....

It's so hard. I'm a very specific color also. One off shade and I look like a zombie. I once purchased two custom wigs- they cut off pieces of my hair and sent them out. I ordered two identical wigs. One was good and one was not. One was wearable for a few years and I could never get the other one to look good. Like you really don't know.

Shifra back is great with blondes and sends her wigs to Sophia in Brooklyn for expert coloring . Maybe show her the wigs. I find her to be honest and knowledgeable about these things.

Im blonde and cant really afford a new wig now…if you really won’t wear them can I buy them off you? I’m not crazy particular about color. I cannot pay anywhere close to 10k per wig though.
