Trader Joe’s and aldi were started by 2 brothers.

Trader Joe’s was started by a guy in California. It was later bought by Aldi’s founder.

I saw a video not too long ago showing a bunch of whackadoo pro-palestinian women going into a TJs with signs and screaming for a boycott of Israeli products in their stores. TJs refused to stop carrying Israeli products (is the follow up I heard). So I'm pretty happy supporting this business at this time. German or not.

I came to say this. I am a loyal trader joes shopper because of this reason. They have never bent to the BDS nutsos and I think we should support it.

I had a funniest experience meeting a guy who was adamant to never go to Germany or buy German, and we met him on vacation in Italy.
Somehow it didn’t click for him that Italy was nazi and antisemitic too…

Remember that nowadays companies are all meshed together. Like Chrysler is owned by Daimler corporation, Cadillacs are made in Germany, some Toyotas are made in Kentucky…parts of everything are made everywhere and owned by everyone.
Flip side is I know some people who purposely buy German products that as a shtuch, like you wanted us dead and now we’re buying your things.

I think there's a difference between German companies that used Jewish slave labor or stole Jewish businesses and those that did neither. Aldi did neither, the Albrecht brothers took over their mother's small grocery and turned it into a franchise. The brothers were soldiers in Nazi Germany though.

The generation after the holocaust, this made sense.

Nowadays with globalization, it really doesn't work.

It's as silly as saying you won't buy Israeli products because of BDS.

Most products have components from all over. How do you isolate items from a specific country?

So many countries hated Jews killed Jews evicted Jew converted Jews if I start boycotting things manufactured in those countries I might as well own my own farm and make everything myself
I’m not minimizing what the Germans have done to us I’m just saying our people have suffered immensely from so many different people over the years seems silly to discriminate one and not all the others

I don't feel comfortable shopping in Aldi's when the founder was actually a Nazi
