When you wash towels, do you wash all different types together or separate loads for each? By different types, I mean bath towels, hand towels, dish towels, etc.
And after how many uses do you wash each type of towel?

The only towels I wash separately are the ones for cleaning the bathroom, which I usually throw in on a hot cycle.

I wash towels together with the rest of the laundry. I don't sort out towels. Def don't sort by towel type.

All dirty towels - like for bathroom, mopping etc go in one load
Bath towels in its own load. Or if it’s for guest room I’ll wash their towels together with their linen.
My hand towels are white so they go in my reg white load.

Dark and light in separate loads, all types of towel, in hot water, normal/cotton cycle. Shmattas used for cleaning, any color without sorting, in a separate load (I have a lot of Shmattas, so this is only a few times a year), hot water, normal cycle.
Change all towels weekly except the washcloths I use for wiping down the sink, table, and stove. I go through those a lot because they get icky fast. Occasionally change hand towels more often if they're staying damp.

Cleaning rags/shmattas go in a extra hot sanitary cycle. Bath towels get their own load, and the rest get washed together.

If you're really concerned about hand towel germs,
You should use paper towels, the kind schools use.

Why would you, unless you were a large institution and needed to shelve these items in different places? (Like, maybe, medium towels in the gym, hand towels in the golf area, and bath towels in the sauna? But in that case they would already be sorted based on where they came from, wouldn't they?)
