My office is trying to formulate their PTO policy, weve been around for a while and always "made" it work...but we need a policy....
Can you share in a frum office, how much PTO you get?
Currently employees are Salaried, get paid YT (work one day Chol) and get paid 5 legal holidays and 2 weeks paid vastation.
How much PTO is standard for FT employees and PT employees?
I greatly appreciate your response. We want to be fair...

This seems pretty fair for a small office. Are they off erev yt? When I worked in b&h was 3 weeks pto, no working chol hamoed, 3 legal holidays. I think if only Jewish employees probably would have been less

I know businesses that give pto as a % of the time worked. I don't know the exact amount but this way PT and FT get the same amount of hours off based on the hours they worked.

It really depends on other benefits, salary, and hours worked.

What you get is very fair.
I get only YT off, paid. No chol hamoed bh.
No paid vacation. Lately, my boss has been 'treating me' and paying for 1 week. No legal holidays.
They seem to like to see me twiddle my thumbs on those days.
I do get work from home and accommodations when my children or off or are sick on as needed basis.
Think taanis esther, orientation etc.

I don’t work in a frum office, but of the people I know, 10 days PTO and all of yom tov seems pretty standard

I do not work for a frum company. I work for a national healthcare company. We are open 6 days a week.
I get 25 days to use at my discretion. It includes legal holidays (we are open-so I can work but they are not “free days off”) and sick time (different from ESL).
If you count it as 7 legal holiday and 3 sick days, it give you 3 weeks vacation.
I use my days for YT and will happily work 4th of July and December 25th. Obviously, some years YT alls out on Shabbos and some years middle of the week. Sometimes I can take Chol Hamoed, and sometimes I work, usually some and some.
With YT how many days total for a FT employee?
(20-39 hours /week os a percentage. Less than 20 is no benefits)

I work for b&h now and the 3 weeks is for hourly employees, which includes sick and vacation days. Plus, chol hamoed and purim are not paid days and come out of the 3 weeks. Salary employees get 2 weeks total sick and vacation days.
When I worked for a different jewish company, we had 2 weeks vacation days one week sick days.

Thanks all
In response to pp
"When I worked for a different jewish company, we had 2 weeks vacation days one week sick days".
Was this in addition to paid YT?

Dh works for B&H salaried and gets 3 weeks, it’s 60 something hours every 6 months. Since that’s on top of YT, chol hamoed and 3 legal holidays it’s very generous.
OP your policy sounds good the only thing I would add is an increase in days after 5 years and then maybe again after 10. It’s a nice thing to look forward to.

My company offers an increase for 5yr employees. We get 240 hours total in addition to YT (does not cover chol hamoed/erev) legal holidays not covered. I believe real part time employees only get YT paid. The unused PTO expires at the end of the year and cannot be rolled into the next.

I do like that idea of increasing days with time worked.
