Even with a half hour of exercise then am I working hard enough? Some classes I sweat buckets, and other exercises/classes I barely sweat. I’ll sweat a lot by cardio, not so much by weights, sit ups, etc.
but then this morning I did 15 min in elliptical, with some floor exercise afterwards for 10 minutes, and I was dry like anything. But it was hard work, didn’t come easy to me, I punched myself almost to the max.

I would say 100% yes. When you burn calories, it works.
Remember that sweating also has to do with environmental factors such as heat and humidity

Yes. Obviously it will be more effective if you are sweating, but still effective even if not.

You cannot lose weight through exercise. Or as some trainers put it, you can't outrun a poor diet. But literally what happens is that as you exercise more, your body compensates by wanting to eat more. Because your body was designed by Hashem to maintain its current weight. The only way to override that hunger system is literally to count (or at least closely estimate) calories. Which means you also have to estimate how many you're burning, then you eat about 200-500 under your daily burn. The exercise is great and has all KINDS of benefits, and it will help you lose weight, but if you don't count calories, you won't be able to lose more than 5 or so pounds and keep them off.
