My husband started his career with an entry level job in the construction industry. After a couple of years, he joined his friends startup. He was quickly promoted to a managerial role. He likes his job but for personal reasons he would like to leave the company. His biggest concern his money. He earns 150k annually. He doesn't have a degree and he doesn't have any specific skills. He's afraid that no company will pay what he currently earns. He really doesn't want to take a pay cut. He possess a lot of leadership qualities. He's smart, responsible, organized, efficient and he takes great pleasure in getting tasks done as quickly and efficiently as possible. The position he is in now is what he is best at. However, most companies don't hire managers, it is a job that you have to work your way up to. He would really like to start his own business eventually. He's just not sure exactly what he wants that to be.
What do you think his next step should be?

I would suggest talking to a good recruiter.
Where I live companies are looking for managers and a degree is not necessary. In fact I was offered more than one managerial positions when I was job hunting. Not sure about men positions.
He might have to take a pay cut to start.
