There is a WhatsApp chat but I don’t feel comfortable posting the link publicly. You can message me and I’ll share with you.

Unemployment you apply online and make sure that you don't check off self employed (I mistakenly did it once and they withheld benefits until I spoke with a representative to confirm that I wasn't self employed. It took weeks to get the phone call with the representative.)
Also schedule a phone appointment with LRRC to see if you're eligible for any programs, and contact Tomchei shabbos for food.

You asked for stories.. during Covid my husband and I were both on unemployment. He was super stressed out. I kept telling him Hashem will help. And He did! BH we both started doing much better. Right now we’re struggling but I have no doubt Hashem will give us what we need. He always has.

TY for taking the time to type that all up I appreciate that. Could you tell me more about what PCS would do for us? Jersey care I'm already working on and I should probably look up the guidelines for food stamps. Any other programs that should be on my radar? I rent and don't send to CHS daycares so mortgage assistance and CHS wouldn't help me. Tomchei shabbos I really hope DH finds another job before it comes to that but it's good to keep in mind.

My DH was paid off, he was out of a job for a while, searching for a new one.
Wasn't easy but BH Hashem helped us forge forward and we survived with a large family and no find help. We didn't have any savings or government funding.
Bh he found a good job, and we're bouncing back slowly.

Call LRRC, they’re really knowledgeable about the ins and outs.

Is he looking for full time? My husband may be looking for someone for a couple hours a day if he's interested in something like that.

They'll know who's hiring and give him resume advice etc. They are very booked out right now (sadly a lot of people are out of work ...) Tomchei Shabbos will have a chanukah distribution iyh. There is utility assistance but I've only ever gotten $5 off, it wasn't worth it for me.

What’s the Chanukah distribution? Regular food that they give all year? We are in the same situation but didn’t sign up for anything yet.

You need to document every tiny thing and if you know for sure you'll have higher income soon then it may not be worth it.
