The Anatomy of a Yenta is a truly beautifully written book that I couldn't put down. Not your typical boring self help book. Artistically written weaving personal experiences with lessons learnt and tons of Frum female empowerment that had me saying YESSS!!!!! PREACH GIRL!!!! (in a good way) all throughout! It's a book I can't compare to any other... Ive never read something like this in our Frum market.
I know for some odd reason some women here on imamother don't go for Raizy. But I think if they read this book their opinion just may change. She is so so REAL in there! She shares things many women would not. It spoke to a very deep part of my soul. And I'm not the only one. All my neighbors are up with the book, there's so much to discuss.

Same here I cried throughout her whole challenge and being bullied, and how she struggled to build her self esteem.....
I actually always admired Raizy, but reading this book put everything she does and is in a whole other level of respect

There are some really weirdly written posts here using language like "who*e" or "preach girl" which are not what I would expect or prev experienced on this website. That is a bit sus.
The title of the book I assume must be based on the famous movie/book " the anatomy of a fall".
Using the term yenta isn't more offensive than it's existing meaning outside the name itself - it isn't like she created that association, it is a well known definition of the word yenta and still is used as a name despite that - I don't get how that can be pinned on an individual.
It is clearly aimed at those who feel their tafkid is to be a homemaker but are frustrated with this as a perceived limitation.
Clearly not aimed at professional women with careers or MO (categories I am proud to be in) so I won't be reading as I don't think I would learn anything from it. I did read and love R Kanievsky books and learn much from them, for reference.
I am sure RF has had a journey of self discovery which she is keen to share, like many people who have felt they have broken a mould. I hope it all goes well for her but not my thing and seems like the audience is quite a narrow sector of chasidish/heimish Americans who are into social media. I hope she makes a profit or at least breaks even from this project.

You made your point on the other thread. Seriously, why did you bump this thread to post the same exact thing?

Are you the copywriter?
I happen to know a copywriter with your screen name so I wonder.
There's no odd reason. The reason is that people that aren't chassidish were raised with hatred to chassidim and the hate sometimes comes through.
Then some people will claim they are chassidish and also sing along.
All's good.

Just add to the relevant conversations and share my personal positive review. Why is a positive review on Raizy's book suspicious????

I followed Raizy fried years ago when she launched her first cookbook she was indeed different then. She changed her self indeed. I think if she would have been raised in a community where college is more common and accepted she would have been in business school. She knows the public she is speaking to, she knows what they want to hear and what they like to watch. Her platform is interesting but I’ve seen this mechanism also in secular things and everything because I’m not in these communities most of my friends and peers went to college, universities plus a year of Sem, work in non Jewish areas and watch Netflix or something at night, they don’t need this kind of mehadrin outlet. And my criticism with frum media is that some things will never discuss. Lots of things such as severe mental health issues (suicidal thoughts for example) , having to deal with non frum or non Jewish family etc
Personally I’m impressed what she does but I also think she is privileged in a sense, she has a supportive family, she is from money they have a good business already, so making this platform and all those equipment was more easy then if she was from a more conservative, or less wealthy family.

She is a businesswoman. First it's recipes, then it's organizing, tips on teens, podcasts, public speaking, now a book. What's next?
She might have a story, but so do all of us. Some have been bullied as kids, some bullied by their in laws, some have a difficult marriage, challenging kids, illnesses, and other struggles. Everyone has their journey, but RF is making money and fame off hers.

I don't have instagram and have no idea who this lady is but she sounds like someone who knows how to hustle. As I get older I think the women who know how to get things done and just do it, sit down and produce, get a lot further financially. Yea, all of us have a story to tell, all of us have a business idea inside of us, all of us have ideas to make money. How many of us sit on imamother instead.
