And saw results?
How does a child outgrow it if her kishkes are all stretched out?

It goes back to normal size once you get them on a consistent schedule of emptying out daily.

And if she refuses to sit and miralax makes her leak?

You have to get her to cooperate for her health. There is no way around her learning good bathroom habits and actually emptying out. The body must empty. Bribe her, make charts, give her a tablet, do whatever you need to do to get her on the toilet every day. Make it non negotiable this is what we do from x to y time.

I'm a big fan of alternative healing but I think this is primarily a gut health thing and I don't think there's an easy way around that.

Get her to work with a child psychologist she has no choice and has to learn how to sit and allow her body to work properly.

If she doesn’t seem to get her body’s cues then does it matter what time of day she sits? What if she is tense inside and holding it back unconsciously?

She needs to be on some sort of laxative to force her body to go. I’ve been dealing with this for years with my 8 yr old. Every morning she gets two exlax. After supper I have her sit on the toliet with a tablet. She definitely has smears in her underwear sometimes. If I forget to send her to the bathroom she usually starts smelling and then I send her to finish the job in the toliet.
Ultimately she has to own the problem and really work with me for her to heal. That’s unfortunately not the case right now.
She doesn’t care and I don’t want to make this into a battle. She is under the care of a GI, I know there is no backup in her and I await the day when we can really
Solve this…..

They learn when it’s on a schedule. Then it’s not random they sit and their body knows it’s time. It’s really the only way it works and it’s a must.

We used the Soiling Solutions protocol. And forced it with enemas when necessary.
That protocol is bottom up, not top down (so no miralax).

If by natural route, you mean modifying diet and taking supplements, then yes. Bh.
I don't think energy healing is all the answer but if it helps you figure out the underlying cause like food intolerances gut microbiome, then yes.

Can I hear more about this? How long does it take to get better?

I just want to add that sometimes all the good diet and supplements are not helping and it's because there could also be a structural piece, like pelvic floor or core weakness. Sometimes pt or cst can make all the difference.

It’s resistance since she was toilet trained cuz she was often constipated as a toddler. She is in 4th grade already and enough is enough. Doctors just say to give exlax. If we can get past the fear and resistance and denial that she needs to go…

If she was always constipated, then there's something there. There are answers, you just have to find them. Personally, I'd start with craniosacral therapy and/or removing dairy from her diet.

Is she fearful and anxious in general or just about this?

https://www.encopresis.com/
In our case, it was maybe a month or two before things got much better, a few months after that we stopped the protocol entirely. But different kids work differently.
