I can't believe that this is a topic here.
Some of you are equating not believing in Santa to not believing in Hashem.
I mean, is this a frum site or what?
What is happening with imamother?

Hi! It’s helpful if you read posts completely rather than just skimming. And there was no “some of you”. It was just one. Me. And had you read the full post you’d have seen that that was something I did AS A CHILD.
Please make sure you’ve read posts correctly before jumping to attack

Something sounds off about a 12 year old doing that but I think parents should tell their kids not to ruin it. I'm a BT and when I was a kid my parents basically explained like "it's a fun thing for them to believe even though it's nonsense so don't spoil it for your friends. They'll learn eventually." I thought it was silly that my friends believed it but it wasn't my place to tell them.

Such is life. Kids talk. Teens do stupid things. Everyone at some point learns that Santa isn't real.

I wouldn't call going to door for shefoch chamuscha a show. Kids are fully aware that they will be ubable to see Eliyahu hanavi and only a rare few heliga individuals have |
Surprise. There isn't actually a source that Eliyahu comes to each person's seder.
This misconception comes from the idea that we call it Kos Shel Eliyahu, and that we open the door for Shfoch Chamoshcha at that point in the haggada. (But if you look in the haggadda, it foesnt actually say that we open the door to let Eliyahu in. We ooen the door to show that we have Hashems protection, being that it is leil shimurim. )
And also maybe because it IS brought down tha Eliyahu Hanavi comes to every bris.
There have been several threads about this here.

Sure everyone learns that at some point. But you don't have to be the one to do the teaching. And neither does your kid.

You don't get to project certain values onto a child and call them social appropriateness or maturity.
