I love mine. But my sinks are underhung, so its easy to use, easy to clean.

As for the panels at the bottom of the wall - it's so you can wash the floor without damaging the wall/cupboards

Those of you who don't spill, how lovely for you. I detest flat sink surrounds with no lip. I had such a sink. My shirts were always getting wet.
I had a lip installed. Problem solved.

I don't mind cleaning the fissure. An old toothbrush does the trick.

It means that the sinks are attached to the counter from under them.
They are not resting on the counter.

Saw this on Amazon, for anyone interested. This ones on the cheaper side, there are more expensive and double deckered ones. I bought for my dtr and she LOVES it, for the same reasons you mention.

With the advent of better cleaning supplies and cleansers, people dont clean with a ton of water anymore so the lip became less necessary.

The lip is called a קנט (Kant) and it's one of the most polarizing design features of the Israeli kitchen.
I have one because 25 years ago, when we bought our home, it was standard. It was unthinkable not to have one.
Not sure what I would do if we were to renovate. On the one hand I totally prefer the look w/o one and it would be nice to be able to wipe up crumbs and other things directly into the bin rather than sweeping everything into the sink. OTOH I do clean the counters constantly - and with a fair amount of water -and it would drive me crazy to have water drip down onto the floor or worse - into the cabinets beneath the counter. Also, I don't find the קנט an issue in terms of dirt accumulating there. Every now and then I do go over it with a toothpick and that gets out any crumbs that might have escaped my notice in regular cleaning.
