I just want to clarify the bolded - it's not for "whatever reason". If the UTI isn't cultured and you don't know the specific strain, it doesn't matter if she was on antibiotics, she needs to be on specific antibiotics to target the strain of the UTI she has.
Refuah sheleimah!
Glad your finally getting care!

Yes bh. Dr just told me that it might be an upper uti and that's why the meds didn't work.

I think OP misunderstood the post that was asking if the dr is part of a bigger practice. THAT post (and her orig post) was about the pediatrician and then the OP answered about the urologist (which I assume is her new dr overseeing her care). I don't think the op was saying Dr. Stock was the orig dr who wasn't taking her seriously. Maybe she can confirm, but I just wanted to clarify

I know that. I just want people to know that I'm having a good experience seeing him. I go back with my child every few months. Had an emergency also. 2 surgeries. I never felt that he was rushing me or that I couldn't ask questions.

I'm so confused.
Didn't you say your pediatrician also diagnosed a UTI? He was trying a second AB bec the first one didn't work?
And your child didn't want to give another sample to culture? Dehydration can happen any time- could be child wasn't dehydrated by pediatrician.
I'm glad you feel better, but it sounds like your pediatrician wasn't that off, unless I'm misreading here.
Also psa to anyone, many kids don't respond well to Tylenol for fever- only motrin. Its not unusual.

Yes. And when I told him something is clearly off 5 days in on meds and still 103 he didn't take me seriously. He mentioned sending urine to a culture but said it's not very important at all.
Listen, he's the dr. I'm not. I don't have to know what yes to look for and what to test for. There's a reason I went to him. There's definitely negligence on his part. He should've insisted on more tests and or culturing the urine. Not tell me to come back after shabbos.

Did you call him to say you are in the hospital? Just curious what his reaction is now.

No I did not. I'm still too p.oed about the whole situation. I have to do it when I'm not sleep deprived or else I'll give it over with the wrong words.

Dr Stock is supposed to be a top urologist. Unfortunately, he was not the right shaliach for our family either. He was very abrupt and caused serious issues for our child. We did not have a good experience with him at all. All I can say is trust your intuition. Even if the great Dr doesn't take it seriously enough, Advocate for your child

Bh we used him for something minor and it all worked out. But the questions; till we found out it's minor. It was very difficult. We had so many questions and we did not get answers. Yes bh it worked out well and it ended up being minor but when we started we didn't know anything and his attitude made everything so much harder.

They're admitting because she's sick for over 3 weeks. They need to get it under control once and for all. |
Thanks for clarifying.

OP I'm so happy to hear the found the problem.
Are they giving her the AB over IV? It works alot faster.
I hope they let you out before Shabbos, my DD they wanted her to stay until the culture came back which was only on Shabbos or Sunday.
We were admitted Wednesday evening so I'm hoping for you that going earlier in the day would help.
Hope you manage to rest a bit now everything is under control

I know not the point of this thread, but id switch pediatricians.
You need a dr you feel you can trust and rely on. Clearly that's not what you have right now.
