But I just spoke to dh. I feel like crying. He's upset why I don't trust my dr. Can you explain to him mother's intuition??? He doesn't get it!!

It's ok. Fathers are not mothers. There's a reason G-d gave a child both a mother and a father. IyH you'll get answers and he'll see why you had to do this, but even if chv not, YOU know right now and that's enough. DH also gets annoyed when I do "too much hishtadlus" for a child's health, and I say I'd rather do too much than too little, to know I did mine.

He doesn't get it because he's not a mother. And not everyone gets fazed or frazzled when their child isn't well.
Hopefully he'll come around soon ih.
Good luck

Good for you for trusting your gut
There’s nothing like a mother’s intuition

I had an unfortunate experience, and the pediatrician kept pushing me off, and my dh thought it was fine, and bh I pushed for more. My only regret is that I didn’t do that sooner.

The good thing about the ER is that they can do any tests you need in one place, so even thought you have to wait, it actually may be less time that running to many appointments

I hope you get answers and that it turns out to be something really simple and easily fixed

Besuros tovos!

She said that they'll take a sono and extensive bloodwork based on what's going on. That's really the most important to start.

Of course ! What I meant was that if that checks out doesn’t mean that there isn’t something wrong . But they may not do additional tests at that point and discharge you . I’ve been down that road so just saying to be prepared that they’ll run some preliminary tests either find something or they won’t . Wasnt sure If you’re thinking they’ll admit you for testing until everything Ruled out . At times it can take weeks for a diagnosis and an ER trip won’t be the magic answer . However you need to start somewhere and this is a starting point.

Yes to this
And sometimes you’ll need to follow up with more specialists and sometimes you’ll need more visits to the ER

But you’re doing the right thing, and hopefully you’ll get answers today, but if not, you’ll know to keep pushing

Refuah shleima.
I had a Dr dismiss a growth on my babies upper arm. I couldn't believe how they said it's fine. I ended up going to a Dr out of state and paying out of pocket to someone I trusted. Glad I did. She has a vein malformation in her arm and we need to monitor it. And went back to the pediatrician and told them how it was negligence. She said she's never seen it before.
Momma.. God gave this child to you. Speak up and take care of yourself and her.
Also make sure you're both boosting your immune system and drinking.

OP good for you for taking this seriously. Please make sure they do a urine culture. I have had issues with UTis the past few years and the basic tests are unreliable and don’t tell you what antibiotic to use. Last week I went to urgent care for a UtI. They gave me macrobid but I didn’t start it and instead went straight to my urologist who did a culture and they discovered which bacteria it was and sent a different antibiotic.

If this is indeed due to a UTI which it sounds like to me, please make sure you see a urologist for urine culture testing at the first signs of UTI in future if Gd forbid to happens again. also look into d mannose supplements

My 10 year old wouldn't be alive if I didn't trust my intuition and push back when we had similar with our pediatrician...follow your gut. Better to waste time and money and learn that it's nothing that miss something serious ch"v.

Oh boy. I burst out crying while I was talking to the dr. I told her I dont want to know its viral because its not. I need a diagnosis. She didnt tell me wait till sunday. She took me very seriously. She was sooo nice about it. I'm just so overwhelmed and sleep deprived it ain't funny. She ordered a full abdominal sonogram, a full detailed blood panel and lab culture urine test.

I'm prepared to waste the day and night as long as I get to the bottom of this.

I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this was said already but they have to do a culture for the UTI in order to match the AB to the bacteria. I know this from experience. You can take a full course of AB which doesn't help at all because it's the wrong match for the bacteria.

That's what she explained to me. I challenged her by saying her white count was 8.5 yesterday she says it doesn't matter. Her fever can still be coming from that.

I don’t think they tell people to wait another few days once they’re there.
Even if they don’t think it’s anything serious, they need to rule everything out before they send you home.
I’m not hoping it’s anything serious with your child but I know what you mean… you just want something to show up so you can start treating it! Been there…
My dr actually sent me to the hospital with my child after weeks of my child not feeling well. I had been in the drs office in the morning AGAIN and they did a urine culture, throat culture and finger prick. They told me that nothing was showing up but they’re concerned and I should go to the local hospital. I went home first- even though they told me not to and while I was home I received a call from the drs office and they told me they forget to check the throat culture and it’s actually positive! No hospital.
Sometimes it’s something easy to treat.

I hope she is feeling better. Some hospitals have a playroom to help the kids pass time more comfortably. You could check if they have a playroom for your daughter to play and pass time.
