I was sick in bed for a few days…
He decided to be nice and do the laundry….
Instead of using detergent he used a cup of bleach!
Kids winter shabbos clothes.., school pants, uniform skirts….. gone
Oh I can write a book!

Our oldest neice is a few months younger than our or first baby.
We were all together on yom tov.
My sil asked her husband to change the baby's daiper so she could daven. He looked helpless so my husband stepped in to help being the very "experienced" father.
While he was showing him what to do she went ahead and soaked the bed!
Sil was still davening so I took over and cleaned up!

The first time dh did laundry he accidentally washed a light pink sock in a dark load, and it got gray. I was right after a baby so of course I cried. The next afternoon he left me a note that he's sorry about the sock and he redid the dark load with the other sock so now they match again. 🤦♀️ |
That's really sweet

The stories you’re hearing is the funny ones where people make fun of the male incompetence you’re talking about, but I’d venture to say it’s not most males |
It is most males.
Your husband is the minority.
Most men have trouble with dressing babies and the like.
That's not to say they are incompetent. Just they tend to have different areas of competence than women.

I guess my husband is the minority as well. Is he as good at picking out clothes? No, but in a pinch he can take a shirt, black pants, undershirt, diaper, socks, and get the kid dressed just fine. Will the hair be quite as neat? No, but only because he doesn't have the experience I have. There's nothing wrong with his fine motor skills or his willpower.
He can clean many things better than I can, he's naturally tidier, he doesn't hate making supper the way I do...

Of course there are men who are better at those things. but that can still be the minority.

Not really because in general we are very practical.
Obviously there are many absent minded, uncapable women just like there are some very capable, responsible men.

My husband would have very funny things to write about me if I attempted any home repairs or furniture building.

When we were quite newly married my husband wanted to know what to eat on an Friday lunch time so I told him there was leftover curried chicken from the night before. I came into see him eating the yellow potato salad for shabbos which I had carefully spooned into a glass serving dish with garnish on top. He must have just seen the yellow and gone with it! I cried because I made it especially for shabbos and now had to think of something else to make! He was so apologetic!

[My husband is a super nice person (way nicer than me) with many, many strengths (the most admirable being absolutely incredible self control), and he has traditionally male strengths and weaknesses. It's the majority. The stereotype wouldn't exist if it wasn't. I think we do a massive disservice to women by making them think their husbands need to live up to some bizarre standard or that they're choosing to be incompetent, no wonder people start thinking up that they have shalom bayis issues after spending time on here. If noone is trying to hurt anyone let's just let people be happy]

I was hemorraging badly (after a miscarriage procedure gone awry). I sent him to buy me pads, as I was going through them by the minute and he came back with Mike N Ikes, chocolate and 2 packs of panty liners (they were cheaper than the other ones)

What doesn't say in the instructions is sugar. Lots of sugar!

Ah. We do it with drinking cocoa powder that has sugar in it as well as honey so they don’t go overboard with the cocoa
