I live in an apartment with no laundry room or pantry and no walk in closet either. I struggle just to find place for my kids clothing. My vacuum cleaner was very quick to go. It just wasn't worth keeping it. It causes more aggravation than it was useful.

I totally hear you about the bras drying in the dining room 🙈 ah, the joys of small apartment dwelling!
Do you not have bunk beds? By us, uniform skirts get hung to dry on the bunk bed of the kid the belong to.

You got me, we don't have bunkbeds.

I use my vacuum cleaner so so often, to clean out the high chair, the dust bunnies, the cobwebs, the garbage can drawer, the stovetop when it gets crumby, and that's besides for erev Pesach cuz then it would be stored with the Pesach stuff in the attic.

I made a vow to myself that I will not ever buy bunkbeds because we live in a house not a dorm and I hated it growing up, it prevents kids from sleeping well, but it seems like the time has come. Or at least loft beds to gain space underneath.

I'm going to sleep now because at least lack of sleep shouldn't be an additional contributor to my helplessness and frustration. Hopefully by morning I'll be ready to listen to some practical advice. Thanks all!

Pray tell what do you keep on top of your closets and on top of your fridge and on top of your seforim shanks? Wondering if my vacuum cleaner fits there.

A freestanding closet at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom - how do you get out of bed? I mean, you realize my baby's crib is at the side of my bed.
Rounded corner shelving units for towels need actual physical corners. One corner holds the vanity, the other two corners the bathtub and the fourth corner meets the hinge of the bathroom door.

Your towels, and you take them down with your folding stepstool, of course.
What I keep up there? Books, seforim, giant packs of toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels, my iron, luggage, blankets...you name it.
Our cute little corner shelf unit is in the hallway outside our one and only bathroom.
We keep the vacuum cleaner under/behind the laundry hamper (it's one of those metal frames with canvas bags hanging from it)

Wait...you have an attic?? I'm sorry, but that's positively luxurious.

Op I feel you.
I lived in a too small apartment for a couple years and I declare that no human being should live like that. It’s one of the hardest most underrated challenges.

I relate to the ideas that people dole out, that would be a dream to implement, if only the space for them would exist! IKEA closets? As if there is one empty stretch of wall. On top of the bookshelves? Who has bookshelves in a micro apartment?

I feel ya sis.

I added top kitchen cabinets in all the bedrooms for storage. Doesn't take up floor space and I thought it would look strange but they're plain white and it kind of blends in. So useful!

Unless you have lived in a small apartment with many kids it’s really hard for other people to understand the stress of keeping everything just so to squeeze out every inch and still not be able to fit everything! I used to dream of just being able to throw a lot in a cabinet without carefully stacking ot perfectly so I could fit it all in. A lot of these suggestions are so not realistic in an apartment that is filled to the max. Though I must say bunk beds is a must when in this stage. If you put in a bunkbed you can fit an entire wall of ikea closets and have tons of storage.

I know the struggle.

I did away with the coat closet. It became storage for that stuff. Hooks went on the wall for in use jackets & the rest are in the owners clothing on their rooms. Also put a stick vacuum on the wall near the kitchen. Bath towels got hooks in the bathroom. Tablecloths with the kitchen towel and bibs stock.

Sounds really hard. Frum families just need so much stuff and it’s hard when there’s no obvious place for it all

Put the children in the shed, with the CDs, diapers and snacks. They can come out when they're eighteen!

Or just think of it as your training period for when you move to an Israeli apartment!

It’s such a normal thing to have in tight spaces! Kids love it and sleep great. This is your solution. It’s an absolutely must.

We can’t do a bunk bed because the kids room is so small it wouldn’t fit

All the above doesn't have to be cleaned for Pesach. Totally possible to close off the area and sell it for Pesach. No need to do bedikat chametz if nobody ever eats there.
