Anyone has the ikea trofast and can give me honest reviews on its durability and quality? I keep seeing people say that the bins don’t stay in track and fall off but on TikTok I only see wonderful reviews.

I love the look and the easiness for kids to take toys by themselves. I would love to know if I can fill the lower medium size containers with magnet tiles and kliks without it falling off.

I actually just realized that some of the heavy bins bent the tracks so it’s a bit harder to get the bin on. It’s still Better than any other solution.

I didn’t like mine
Took up too much space and the little kids just pull the bins and empty

I have mine for 6 months. So far so good. Very heavy bins might strain the tracks but they are a softer plastic and don't seem to be cracking or warping. I have friends and family who have theirs for a year or more and they're also very happy with it.

Keep in mind this also means easy to take out every bin an dump everything out.
I would rather take out 2-3 toys for my kids myself..

Thank you for your help!

Do you fill it till the top with toys? Would it be able to hold magnetic tiles? Or that’s too heavy?

I put the heavy bins (magnatiles, cars...) in lower bins. I don't even put them in the track. I also would divide the magnatiles into two smaller bins rather than one big bin.

Actually I see the one I want to get is raw wood look so the tracks are cut in. I don’t want to just keep the bin there, I want it on the track. Will I have trouble if it’s any heavy toy? If so maybe it’s not worth it for me… but I love the look and it’s so Montessori

I've had them for at least 6 years. I love them. The bottom bin sometimes my kids just rest on the bottom of the unit instead of on the track, and this way they can fit more, but everything else stays where it belongs.

I have a few bins that occasionally fall off, but for the most part they stay on. I’ve had them for almost 10 years.

I had it and ended up giving it away and buying a full sized pax instead. I got so fed up of the kids just emptying and pulling out all the boxes. So I bought a cupboard instead that I keep locked and we only take one toy out at a time.
But they are really sturdy and hold up well. If you have children who will keep things perfectly tidy, or you don't mind if they empty all of the toys out, then go for it.
