If you're on a diet of any kind, for health or for weight, how much extra do you spend on yourself? (Feeling a little guilty, we are tight.) What's normal?

Ozempic is cheaper. And easier.

Weight watchers $22 month, but worried going up in a few months to 40 something.

But it helps me greatly to eat optimally, very wholesomely so I look at it like a medical expense.

I’m not sure your point? I don’t want to do ozempic and it’s not cheaper

I'm currently on weight loss shots. It's not cheap, and the food costs alone of the high protein food I'm eating adds up too.

If you're looking to diet on a budget I just came across something online called a potato reset. You just eat potatoes. Most people do this for a week or two. One guy did it for a year and lost 100 pounds. I can't comment on the physical or mental health aspects of eating nothing but potatoes for an extended period, but it does seem to work and is certainly cheap.

If you're doing this, you might as well do a milk-only diet. Drinking only milk is still cheaper than most meals.

I invested about $1500 in a small home gym, but that's it, there are no recurring costs. However, my food costs alot. Probably an extra hundred a month. I'm not on any special program. I'm diabetic, so I have to follow the standard diabetic diet. I'm still on the fence about ozempic, even as a diabetic, and since I've been controlling it well with just metformin, I'm staying that path for now. If I do go down the ozempic route, at least insurance will cover it thanks to my diabetes diagnosis.

Ohh... not to go off topic but we are building an extension onto our house and adding a gym. Right now my Peleton is in my bedroom so it will be moved in there. What else did you put in yours ?

Losing weight is not as simple as just eating more veggies. 🙄

veggies are not enough. You also need more protein and fats, and those can get expensive

I have an elliptical, a treadmill, and various odds and ends like a weight rack with varying weights, mats, large exercise balls, those stretchy things, and a bar on the wall. I also have a large monitor screen installed so I can watch shows while on the treadmill or elliptical, and also play YouTube exercise tutorials while using the other things.
