I was considering getting a ribbon front bc I don’t want lace (bc of maintenance) and I hear ribbon is the most natural after lace. I just saw a friend with a new ribbon wig. It looked just as wiggy as any other non lace wig out there. The front of the part was all filled in with hair (where lace is not). Is there any way around that or that’s what I should expect for a non lace?

This is a good example of a ribbon front. It should be very flat in the front

Is it just my imagination or so I see the hair line of the wig?
Can you find me another picture? That was so helpful

Yes you can see the hairline if you zoom in. But the same with lace front unless done perfectly which is rare.

Ya? I Dont mean that I see the lace, it looks like the ending of the wig before the lace? I dunno something doesn’t look so flattering. Am I wrong? Any other pics to see?

I have an Irene ribbon front. Practically, it doesn't look that different than a regular skin top. Just lays a little flatter in the front. It looks nothing like a lace front/top.

That’s what I thought.

Does it look wiggy?

No you're correct. I suppose makeup could be used to blend the ribbon color with the scalp color for a bit of improvement.

Is there a reason you're looking at ribbon instead of lace?

I have two ribbon fronts. They both look wiggy tho and like a skin top, no one would confuse it for lace. But they do sit flatter in the front. I’ll say thag it depends on the brand. One of mine basically looks like any skin top but flatter in the front and hair covering the front part but the other one I got sits pretty flat all over and the front part looks more parted with no hair blocking the front. But again, definitely not lace. The second one doesn’t have baby hairs added so that may be why the part looks more defined .

I think I've seen very natural ribbon fronts
I have also seen very wiggly lace tops
In general (and no I don't work with sheitels this is not a plug) the Rena lace tops are the flattest most natural and the Eva and Chloe ribbon front I saw looked great

Agreed. Eva and Chloe is the most natural ribbon I’ve seen

So talk to different sheitel machers and ask them how they do the ribbon front. I would think that to look most natural, it should have baby hairs and be thinner in density than the hair behind it. If they have no idea what plucking the hairline to blend it means, then move on lol.

There are better ribbons than others. That being said, it isn't lace and definitely looks a lot less natural.
