I’d like to purchase a dumb phone to use when I need more focus, but I’d still like to use my iPhone for music, GPS, etc.
Is there a way to forward my iPhone calls and maybe texts to another device? Or do I need to get a separate phone number? Anyone use both a dumb phone and a smart phone and can share their solution?
Tia!

I would love that too. I have been looking for a solution for years. Meanwhile I have 2 numbers.
I don't think there is a solution. ;(

2 separate phones and Sim cards sharing the same phone number? Both phones ring when someone calls? I'd love to hear from someone who has this. I think many people would get it.

On the smartphone they have the digits app. That doesn’t help if you want the iPhone number to ring on the dump phone. And it’s only if both numbers are T-Mobile to the best of my knowledge.
I used to to regular call forwarding from my iPhone to my flip phone

Every phone has a call forward option you still need 2 phone numbers and then do call forward from one number to the other

I have Verizon. Thanks, I guess I’ll try reaching out to them. I’d also love to get a phone recommendation that has good quality audio. I don’t need anything but talk, text, and maybe contacts. Still going to keep my smartphone around for apps I use and a camera.

Oh this sounds like a good solution. Anyone know if texts also forward?

You're not using your iPhone for any communication, right?
So just use it like a tablet without a SIM card and move your SIM card to your new dumb phone and receive calls and texts on that...

Yes. My DH has it. I don't know how they did it but they set it up for him in the store.

You can do this if the dumb phone has hotspot option. That's what I do so when I go out I have the smartphone using the internet of my dumb phone and can Waze etc with it.
There may be an option to get a car SIM from your provider, I'm not sure if it has SMS though.

Does that work with whatsapp also? Will whatsapp messages still come to the smartphone?

From what I understand when reaching out to T Mobile about this, you end up paying about 80 a month for 2 phone plans.
Is that what you do?
Or is there a cheaper way to do this

This is my understanding, you purchase a sim or e-sim meant for an apple watch. Instead of it ringing on the watch it rings on the 2nd phone.
I believe the flip phone gets the main sim and phone number and the iphone uses the e-sim.

Yes if you have the main account on your iPhone. You can either use WiFi or any SIM with internet and get your messages

I'm pretty sure yes, it's an app that doesn't need an active phone line on the device to keep the messages working.
