Bli ayin hara my 2.5 year old who’s been in glasses for almost two months is so good about keeping them on! Everyone asks me how she keeps them on. I’m like idk I guess they really help her see so she’s motivated!!
We only did the ones with the rubber in the back until he was about 3-4.
Also, go back and make sure that your child’s prescription is correct. I found that anytime our prescription wasn’t right he would take them off a lot.
I had one child from age 2 and one from age 9 months. Put elastic or a chain or string around the back and show him how he can hang it from his neck if he wants to take it off. It doesn't look special needs - everyone understands why young children with glasses need something to help them keep them on.
A friend of mine has a 2 year old with glasses that have the rubber around the back and she also takes them off and flings them who knows where. The band isn’t foolproof! She once found them in a supermarket parking lot … when she couldn’t find them at home she drove back to the supermarket and found them under a car…
DD now 7 has had since 2 and she never broke or lost a pair BH (besides for 6 months ago and they weren't done correctly so they fell when she was pushed in school)
I highly recommend the string, it's not that which makes them look sn it's the glasses sitting in the middle of the nose or the lenses enlarging the eyes.
If you won't do the string some do have rubbers that you add on the ear holders that help keep them in place and comfortable.
(Please remember your kids comfort and vision comes before what others think he looks like) If he doesn't wear them the effect can be a lot worse after time.
Like others said if he knows not to remove them he will listen if they are comfortable, make sure they are sitting correctly - check with the store and check that the prescription is still relevant. At that age DD changed very often numbers.
