She just started “real” school. She doesn’t have accidents there but at home she refuses to use the toilet and has accidents. I started putting her in diapers after the first accident cuz I just can’t deal with pee all over my house. She won’t listen to reminders. She just refuses to go. And then pees herself. She has a diaper rash. Her shoes smell. I have to wash her uniform every day. It’s so annoying! She seems to me like she’s holding it together in school and then just wants to let loose at school. She loves school. She can’t wait to go in the am and is so excited to show me everything from her day afterwards. She’s just exhausted after school. What do I do?

Diapers is a terrible idea don’t do it. I have mine use the bathroom when she gets home. I don’t negotiate, I’ll distract and say you go to the bathroom while I prep your snack or toy.. or I go with her and shmooze about her day..she needs to go as soon as she comes home period no discussion. You can also try a chart.

DS 4 refuses to use the bathroom in school. He holds it in all day.
He knows as soon as we get home, we go straight to the bathroom. No ifs, ands or buts.

Contests. Something small that she can get every day that she does not have an accident. Is this a new thing? If it’s something new that never happened before I would check for streptn

Try not to relate your frustration and disappointment to her. Your calm and positive attitude will only help her. treat accidents like temporary accidents that get dealt with and forgotten
First rule out any physical problems, are you sure she doesnt have an infection or worms, You mention a rash, is it out of control and need a doctor to check it?
Second, investigate whats going on in the bathroom at home that she refuses to use it? How can you make going to the bathroom at home a more pleasant experience.
Please dont put diapers on her, You can have her take her shoes off when she gets home so they dont smell. (Can you wash her shoes in the machine?).
Have faith,this too shall pass.

Diapers???? Nooo! I think you made your prob bigger. Tell child "your very big I don't know why mommy put you on diapers after school tomorrow you will wear your pretty panties and make in the toilet"
Encourage bathroom time maybe reward.
Find out what's going on in school. Some kids so this as a stage of control after starting school deal with it . It will pass
