I’d have them test for shigella at this point. It needs meds to go away. Or test for other things it’s very long and he might need something to get rid of it.

I would definitely bring him to the doctor tomorrow and have him checked out, just to make sure he isn't dehydrated and doesn't need IV fluids or anything like that. Refuah shelaimah! And I will reiterate you sound like a wonderful mom, he is lucky to have you.
ETA- he is crying and you don't know why? How long is it lasting |
I’ve been to the doctor every day but one 😅
I think I’m getting the “most annoying FTM” award
Bh he’s not dehydrated. Making wet diapers, little less wet than usual but completely fine. Cries tears, shiny wet tongue.
He starts shrieking closer to bedtime. He’s inconsolable. He’ll be writhing in bed. I think something about lying down upsets his stomach. He’s fine as soon as you hold him upright. Then he wakes up completely cheerful

I’ll see how he does in the morning. I might go to an urgent care just because I’m embarrassed to show up at his doctor again

My 11 months old just went through this! It was 6 days of diarrhea with some vomiting, I thought I'm going crazy!!! BH today finally he had a more solid diaper and only one as opposed to 10.. my husband joked this kid needs his own washing machine with all the leaking.
Just writing this out to give you some hope!
We did continue giving him formula during this week because that's a big part of his nutrition.
And also his day care Morah told me a few kids had it.. so it was /is going around.

I don’t think it makes sense to go to a new doctor now. Your regular doctor knows the history and at this point I would gently nudge him to do more testing

Wow! Thank you! Good to know I’m not the only one going through this.
lol the amount of laundry I’ve done! I have washed my linen at least once a day since he’s been sick. I hope your baby has a Refuah sheleimah

You’re right. I just feel so awkward. I hate feeling like an over-anxious, annoying, first-time mom. I’ll see how tomorrow goes and hopefully Hashem will have mercy on both me and my baby and he’ll be fine by then

It's not annoying for the Dr to get paid for your visit! You are doing what is right and best for your baby and that's all that matters!! You're doing amazing for FTM!

Is it a BM? Is it his poor acid worn esophagus? Is he just exhausted from not feeling well? Who knows. It’s not the crying I’m used to.
I had hoped he’d be showing more improvement today.
Bh he had more of an appetite today. He hates the pedialyte and only takes 2-3 sips as needed. I made a vegetable soup that he loved. It wasn’t the best thing as his diarrhea came back but I’m just happy he was eating. |
From experience with my kids.
My Dr always says to come only if it lasts longer than 5 days or the child is lethargic.
If he knows of a bug going around which lasts longer he will wait longer.
Instead of veg soup can you make apple compote for him?
Peel and chop apples and in a pan with a tiny bit of water, cover and cook until apples are soft and can be blended or mashed.
(It happens quite fast so don't get too distracted - btdt)

We made him that as well. He had a little bit and didn’t want more but was really happy to have the soup so we gave him as much as he wanted
