Yes this is definitely a factor. Although I don’t think he interviews badly. Just not super good. He watched clips of how to interview and what to answer and is trying… but he’s still not a business man

Maybe one of the recruiters could do a mock interview and work with him, give him tips.
So even more so networking with friends and family is important because they know him. Dh got his first job through my friend. Her brother hired him and he is still there over 5 years later making almost 3x a much as he did then bh.

For those that mentioned courses and going back to school, did ur husbands have to take a GED? My husbands English is good but not that good to sit and take the GED so we’re stuck |
He can definitely take some courses without a high school diploma or GED. He likely wouldn’t be able to do official college to a degree but courses, no problem. Things like learning excel, quickbooks, computer programming, property management etc.
This sounds so stressful. I hope he finds a good job really soon.

He can enroll in OCC (in Toms River) without a diploma. I did. You just need to pass the entrance exam or take remedial classes instead.

My dh is training to be a nursing home administrator there is ways to do it that it can take 9-10 months and get paid while you train and you can make very nice income once liscenced. There is a real path to growth if you are good at it. Maybe something he can look into.
Hatzlocha!

He’s Israeli. I wonder if they have a program like this in Israel for chareidi guys who went to enter the workforce. Where or who would I contact regarding taking these courses? Everyone I checked wanted at least a GED

Another vote for interview coaching. DH was having a hard time finding a job a few years ago and a relative sent him for coaching (and paid for it since we were broke). It really helped bH. Sometimes it’s just reviewing and knowing what to say to different questions.
That being said dh has been trying to switch jobs for a while already with no luck. The job market does seem a bit difficult right now but Hashem can do anything! Lots of Halacha to both of you

We live in NY. Do they have remote classes?
What did you take with them?
