So I have a lot to lose.
I was 88lb overweight. In the last 3 to 4 months I've lost about 13lb
Now I've reached a plateau.

I do intermittent fasting, 16 to 18hrs
I do take breaks usually on Shabbos

I'm exercising a decent amount for my fitness level and have increased recently.

My calories are already reduced to the point if I reduce them anymore I'll be too hungry to function and it will backfire. I'm ok with being mildly hungry but I know myself and I know it won't be good to eat any less.

I'm very focused on high protein.

I'm also cognizant of the fact that my weight loss is slower because I'm building muscle and bone density.

I know plateau is normal and to be expected.

Are there ways to push past it and speed it up though?
For those of you this have, how long does it usually last?

Points to consider, I'm perimenopausal, on HRT and I have awful insomnia

How much calories are you consuming? When you say you take breaks, what are you eating? Are you making sure to hydrate? The insomnia is definitely contributing. Your body needs rest to properly function. Are you seeing a nutritionist? Certain foods can help you relax and provide natural melatonin.

The intermittent fasting and low calories, may be putting your body into starvation mode, which means it will hold onto fat. I’d recommend eating more, maybe try smaller more frequent meals. Sorry, I know this answer might mess with your head, but it’s a real possibility.

I'm not actually counting calories. It's more that I've reduced how much I eat, cut out snacking (especially at night) and I have a lot of protein. It's really hard to reach the amount of protect that I beg to have per body weight but I just try to make my meals as high protein as I can. I have a lot of shakes with fruit. I think I'll cut back on the bananas and try to use berries more then mangos for example when making my shakes.
Usually our carbs at dinner time is rice and salad. I eat very little of the rice in general and have been cutting it back completely lately. I don't really need it to be full. My issues in the evening which I feel I've mostly overcome was that I used to snack alot especially while watching a movie for example. It wasn't hunger though, it was psychological.
I've cut that out. I can't cut out dinner though.

The insomnia is a constant battle. I take 10mg melatonin, Gabba, magnesium for night. I have a sleep specialist.
But I'm here about the weight loss more then the insomnia.

I do that on Shabbos. I know you are meant to take breaks to reset but it's not working. I feel like Shabbos and yomtov sets me back a lot.

How many fruits are you eating in the shakes? Add more veggies to your diet and eat two fruits a day. One cup strawberry, one apple etc.

Yes, and add half a plate of non starchy veggies to each meal.

The only thing that ever helped me was honestly counting calories. It's amazing how for example a bunch of healthy fruits can give you a ton of calories at the same time. Just two bananas or a bunch of grapes and a mango can sometimes make all the difference between losing a bit of weight or keeping/gaining it.

Add 15 minute walk brisk daily, and 4 cups water. It's amazing what these little things can do!

Currently in a plateua also, bez"H we can do this!

I don't count calories most of the time but follow a 1200 calorie plan that allows X portions bread, Y portions fruit, Z portions milk and so on. Now and then I calculate calories for the day just to see what it comes out to and it's usually very close to 1200. As I get closer to my goal weight the loss is slowing down, which is to be expected. You're not supposed to go below 1200 because then you don't get all the necessary nutrients, and I already exercise plenty. So I have to content myself with slower progress and maybe get a bit more scrupulous about portion sizes. On Shabbos I give myself more leeway but I don't go overboard. I would maybe lose a bit faster if I didn't relax on Shabbos, but you have to live a little too. "More leeway" being an extra slice or two of challah, a portion of kugel, maybe even a sliver of cake the size of my pinkie, that sort of thing, not half a package of streimel cookies with a banana split chaser. As some wag told me: on Shabbos your נשמה יתרה consumes all the calories--but after Shabbos the נשמה goes back to Heaven and the יתרה stays with you!

Until I counted calories I didn't realize how much I was eating...
for lunch I would have three scrambled eggs with a large slice of cheese and whole wheat crackers....wow that is ALOT of calories!! now I would have three scrambled egg whites, no cheese, 60 calories of light cream cheese, tomato slices and a 70 calorie Royo bagel......JUST as filling but like 1/3 of the calories!
I can probably think of alot of examples like that...
a smoothie can easily be a few hundred calories....(probably very healthy ones!! but discussing weight loss....)
maybe instead of a smoothie, you can have a Jus for Julie oat bran muffin (80 calories) with a coffee........
or one sliced apple.....
if you post your typical daily menu, I can tell you how many calories it is....and maybe come up with some alternatives that are just as yummy and filling....
(I use nutritionix..)

I find that using the MyFitnessPal app is very helpful in tracking food. That way you know exactly what you’re eating and calories, it also can track macros and protein carbs and fats

Chewing in general is important. It’s better to eat your fruit than drink it. On weight watchers fruit is free, but not if you blend and drink it.

someone here once posted to take your goal weight x 84 and that should be your weekly caloric intake to get to that weight...
for instance, if someone would want to be 150, then they should consume 12,600 calories weekly.
if you are doing fasting, I'm not familiar with that method, but maybe "count" what you eat on Shabbos also...
I eat alot less during the week and save a lot of calories for Shabbos....just three basic Shabbos meals can easily be thousands of calories!!
I am experimenting now with doing a ton more exercise and upping my calories as well but I don't have long term results at all so I can't tell you if it works....

I just did a rough calculation. I'm probably having approx 1000 calories a day.
The smoothies fill me up a alot and keep me going for a while. A muffin and coffee wouldn't do it for me plus I need protein.
Smoothies are brunch
I also have fish or chicken or meat for dinner, a little salad and rice. When I'm lazy I'll have scrambled egg.

I'm actually quite lazy in the kitchen
