I feel like I’ve only ever heard Chaya combined with something else. Chaya Sara (my absolute favorite but can’t use Sara), Chaya Tzirel, Chaya Leah, Chaya Rivka, Chaya Rochel, Chaya Liba, Chaya Nechama, Chaya Tzippy are some of the few that I know.
Is there any particular reason it is so often combined with something else? I want to use the name Chaya but it feels incomplete, but I don’t know what I would add to it and I don’t want to add something “just because”.

Plenty of chaya solos around.
Not sure what you mean.
I hear what youre saying that its commonly doubled - but thats just because its the go to when naming after someone young, or after an illness, and then it gets passed on to the next generation. So gets very common.
And its sound doubles well.

Also, an aside,
are you naming after someone? If not, please ask about adding a name. You don't have to use it but makes life easier when shidduchim come around - especially with a common name like Chaya (avoids problems of having same name as mil, most pple are ok as long as there is a different name)

Not naming after someone. As I said, it’s my absolute favorite name, it just feels incomplete.

I have 3 names, my first is Chaya
I love Chaya as it is.
It felt so annoying to me in school that I was registered with 2 of my names and I always had to tell the teacher that I wanted to be called Chaya;)
I grew to like my other names but really still like to be called Chaya only.

My dd is chaya with no middle name.
Before she was born we knew we would probably use chaya and I didnt want to name "chaya" with no middle name for the same reason as you-- once she was born my husband and I looked at each othjer and said "shes just chaya!"

I added the name Bracha.
I know there’s many
Chaya Sara’s (you said you can’t add Sara)
Chaya mushka
Chaya Leah

If you want the name Chaya, there's no need (or point) to add another name.
The reason there are so many Chaya____ is because they are really naming the second name, but they want to add a name for whatever reason and Chaya is a good name to add. It has nice meaning especially if the person died young and it has a nice sound and fits well with most names.

Chaya singular name is a family name in mine, I know at least 10.
And whoever said about shidduchim, sorry that is such hogwash. I’ve never ever heard of anyone saying no or not looking further because of the name Chaya.

I think she meant that it might be an issue if the young man's mother is also Chaya

My grandfathers mother passed away at the age of 36 - therefore we add the name Chaya along with her name as a symbol for long life.
