Lifelong aliyah plans no longer calling me

I have wanted to make aliyah for 20 + years. A major part of my outlook has been working towards making aliyah.
Now, I am feeling differently and I am trying to reconcile this feeling.
Major change came when I realized how much political division there is and how it creates division among groups. And how and who runs the government.
I have this ideal in my mind of Israel from vacations and from this fantasy land in my own head. Maybe its better to stay there rather than be shattered.
I dont know. I am a little depressed that I feel this way now. I want to want to make aliyah but my outlook has changed.
Any similar feelings?

I've never been one to push for others to make Aliyah and yes, there are some less than ideal aspects of our society. The fact of the matter is though, that there is absolutely nothing on earth that compares to Shabbat and chagim here, the breathtaking scenery all over the country, the palpable connection to our history that you literally feel on every foot of this land. That is the magic and fantasy of this place and that has nothing to do with government, politics or social tensions.
(It is important though to find a place to live with like-minded people.)

As much as I agree or disagree with any jew I meet here, there is and underlying love and care that crosses all lines. We are Jewish brothers and sisters.

Remember, living in Israel is real life. We have garbage trucks, we have taxes, we have annoying lines at government offices, we have PTA, our cars break down, and so on.

Do politics where you live ruin your everyday life?
You probably do what you need to do and go vote when it comes up.
We do the same.
