My beautiful daughter was born with a birth mark on her forehead called a stork bite. It’s very obvious and somewhat annoying (to me). I’d love to hear how common it is and if it actually ever goes away.

Very common. Usually goes away by the time they are two. My own baby has one on her forehead.

I’m so curious what causes it. It’s actually my second daughter with it. The first one is 4 and it’s still there. Anything to do about it?

Stork bites on the face tend to go away by 2 years old. A dermatologist can do a procedure to help reduce it if it doesn't.

It is caused by dilated capillaries during fetal development. It's basically a malformation of the blood vessels.

One of my kids has it on the back of the neck and it never fully went away (said child is now 8).

4/5 of my kids have it on the back of their necks, pretty sure it’s still there but covered by hair. My husband does also.

My daughter had it on her forehead, her eyelid, and back of her neck. Back of her neck is still there and covered by hair and forehead and eyelid basically went away. Forehead away totally, and eyelid, you only see it when she cries. She’s 2-3 now.
