Did you or anyone you know move back to Brooklyn after making the move out of the city for housing purposes? I’m asking specifically about moving back because you weren’t happy in the place you moved to. I want to hear people’s experiences in such a situation

I don't have experience, but I'm curious about this. I'm really looking to move out for a few years now for housing as well as I feel crowded and claustrophobic where I live in general (even outside- meaning, not only my tiny house).
But people keep warning me how the ones who move away are so often unhappy.
Is this actually the case?
this is what has kept me from having the assurance to take the leap, even though I feel like I would be so much happier...

My parents moved out of Brooklyn 45 years ago and never looked back. I spent my childhood visiting a ton but we never considered moving back for a minute.
My parents have been so happy.
We had a lot of neighbors who were transplants from Brooklyn and none went back.

I think it depends on each person individually. If you think you would appreciate a more relaxed quiet environment then it might be a good move for you. Lots of people who make the move end up being happier. At the same time I’m hearing from many many people that they are not happy, but most seem to stick it out. I’m curious to hear from people who decided not to stick it out and moved back. Or that are sticking it out but still unhappy
